To Tattoo or too Taboo

3/1/2025

I have always loved tattoos, but I was brought up in an age when it was taboo and it was really just something an outlaw would get, and MUCH MUCH less something a woman would!!

I remember as a kid low-key admiring the artistry and that they just looked so cool! The nicely, tastefully done ones of course. but it’s subjective and what could be nice looking to me may not be for someone else.

As I grew up, they started becoming more acceptable, and I knew one day I would get one, and it really didn’t matter to me what anyone thought. I ended up leaving my twenties very undecided what to get and where (where on my body and what studio/artist).

Fast forward present time, I decided this was the decade!! I’m super happy I waited as now I have been able to incorporate more personal things in the tattoo designs.

Tattoos are now not only much more prevalent, but the quality and artistry of them look so much more beautiful!! I’m the first woman in my family to get tattooed and, I love them. Yes THEM. I thought it would be just one I would get, but I now have several. I’ve said I’m done, but I know I could maybe do one(?) more! Despite the pain, they can be somewhat addictive!!

That's something you have to keep in mind when considering a tattoo is, how is your pain tolerance. They are not the most comfortable, and it also depends where on your body you place them. I had heard that your wrist would hurt, but found that that wasn't so bad. During one session I even took a quick nap! I know there are some sort of numbing creams and sprays, but to me it was better to experience the pain and not having the numbing wear off and be in more pain afterwards.

I will say that my skin healed very quickly as well. I think everyone will have a different experience. I also didn't experience much itching with any of the tattoos. The third day had mild itching for a few hours, and minor scabbing. I think it was two or two and a half weeks of what I would say was my healing process. Although you have to be very diligent with keeping them clean and moisturized so that helps! I also had no bleeding. The vibes and energy in the sessions helped too.

There are so many styles out there and you could spend hours reading about them and looking at pictures!

Some of the styles I have seen that are popular now are: Realism, Tribal, Fine Line, Japanese, Black & Gray, and Chicano, but there are so many more, so do your research!

It's so ironic that for many cultures tattoos have a negative connotation , and yet for others, such as the Polynesian and Maori cultures, they are regarded with spiritual significance.

Definitely do your research and make sure you go to a clean, reputable place. A chill tattoo artist also helps! I have had all mine (I won’t say how many) done by the same artist as I like his style, and his vibe. Email me or DM on Instagram if you’d like the contact information of the artist I have gone to.

Tattoos are such a personal journey, and now there is laser removal if you ever need to remove them. At the end of the day, just be careful what you put on your body so that you don’t waste your money. Although sometimes you'll even forget that you have them!

Wishing you happy searching and happy Inking!!

Argentinian Empanadas (L&E Weetas Empanadas)

Sometimes I don’t want to be a foodie, but most of the time I do not regret it!!

It had been a while since I had empanadas and I had been craving them. I came across Weeta's Empanadas one day a few months ago and started following (IG: @weetasempanadas) and for a few months I saw incredible vibes from this account! So I finally had a chance to try these amazing Argentinian goodies!! I ordered them frozen and then just had to heat them and serve!! So convenient!!

One word to describe them: DELICIOUSSSSSS!!! They are plumpy and I know made with love so they tasted even better! I ordered the Spinach and Cheese and now I just want all the flavours!!

The chimichurri (the green sauce that comes with them) is a very tolerable spicy and trust me I am not a person who likes spicy, but it was soooo GOOD! I wanted to drink it (a little embarassed to admit that, but that's how good it was!). I did have to share with my family I couldn't hide them, so next time I may have to go to a secret location LOL.

Lisa (the L in ‘L&E Weetas Empanadas’) personally delivered them and I am sooo grateful for that!! Reach out to her to see if this is possible in your area, but I do know they do several Markets throughout the year. She is not only one of the kindest persons, but an amazing business woman and it’s one of the things I had been admiring the past few months.

Thank you Lisa for the fresh and delicious empanadas and again was amazing to meet you! Keep hustling, making amazing empanadas, and sharing joy and and amazing vibes in your stories!!

Don’t concern yourself with the Likes - Concern yourself with the ‘Likes’

What do I mean by this? It’s basically to remind you to not put emphasis on the amount of likes or followers you have, but the quality. Whether online or in real life (IRL).

Concern yourself instead with the ‘like’-minded individuals who support and follow you/you follow. Friends and family (or even some you haven't met personally) who share ‘like’ minded morals and ideas especially when it comes to your self-development.

Some think you’re bragging when you speak about your goals or how you want to grow and better yourself. So those are not the individuals you want around you, because they don’t have the ‘like’ minded growth goals you do. Actually, they don’t even have to have the same goals or even be working on their growth, but the ones who want to support you in YOUR growth definitely will! You will see it and you will feel their good energy.

One of the hardest things that you come to realize as you keep growing spiritually and mentally, is that people you thought would support you actually don’t, and your circle gets much smaller. However, you also find it so much more peaceful! So far at least personally I have felt this.

Keep in mind that even though the support from the quality people is great, you have to learn to keep clapping and cheering for yourself! That’s the mental battle right there!!

So to all who support, I thank you!!! I feel your good energy! To those who don’t, why are you still reading this then?

Well well well. Looks like I have a blog now!
Happy New Year and welcome!

I wasn’t sure what the first topic should be, but then thought with my Birthday approaching, Lunar New Year, and a new calendar year, why not talk signs and new beginnings!

There is definitely so much out in the world to try to just be sticking to one thing. Go ahead and try new things this year!! Now with access to the Internet, there really is no excuse! So I wish you well on whatever new goals you have set for yourself! JUST START!!

Having a website has been a goal of mine for a while now and happy to finally be giving it a (learn as I) go! Thank you to my niece (IG: @jbdesignsplus) for starting it out for me!

In terms of signs, the Universe will send them to you sometimes in the most unexpected ways. Look and listen closely, sometimes they are not so obvious and you may not realize them until you get your aha moment at a later time and think, “Oh that’s what that meant!”

I  hope this will help be one of your signs to start what you need to this year. It may even be your sign to end something! It’s fine to end things that are no longer needed too, because endings are only getting you ready for New Beginnings.

Thank you for reading! Bless and you know where ITZZ at!

P.S. I do not use Chat GPT. That’s my mind rambling.
